6th World Public Relations Day Summit in Iran Focusing on the Golden Age of Strategic PR

As part of preparations to commemorate World PR Day, the World PR Day Secretariat in Iran has launched a series of specialized, educational, and promotional programs aimed at advancing the culture of professional public relations, increasing public awareness, elevating the status of strategic communications, and strengthening the role of public relations in the country’s communication governance.

According to the Secretariat, the Sixth World PR Day Summit, regarded as the most significant event marking the occasion in Iran, is among its principal initiatives. The summit will bring together academics, researchers, communication executives, media professionals, and public relations practitioners, providing a platform to explore the latest trends, challenges, opportunities, and the future of the public relations profession in Iran and globally.

In addition, the Second World PR Day Award will be held with the objective of identifying, evaluating, recognizing, and showcasing successful experiences, creative ideas, innovative programs, and impactful activities in the field of public relations. By introducing best practices and reinforcing professional standards, the initiative seeks to enhance performance quality and foster constructive competition among professionals and institutions active in the sector.

Another major focus of the Iranian Secretariat is the implementation of public awareness initiatives about World PR Day through a variety of media, educational, cultural, and communication formats. In this regard, the production and dissemination of specialized content, effective use of media platforms, social networks, scientific forums, educational programs, and advocacy activities will be pursued to strengthen public understanding of the importance and role of public relations.

The Secretariat also plans to publish a special World PR Day edition through the quarterly journal Public Relations Practitioner (Kargozar-e Ravabet Omoumi). The publication aims to present expert perspectives, scholarly analyses, professional articles, successful case studies, and key developments in the field, while offering a comprehensive overview of emerging trends and transformations in public relations.

Meanwhile, promoting and elaborating on the World PR Day slogan, “The Golden Age of Strategic Public Relations,” has been identified as one of the Secretariat’s core priorities. The slogan reflects the growing importance of intelligent communications, the application of emerging technologies, and the expanding role of public relations in communication governance and the development of social capital.

Furthermore, the Declaration of the Sixth World PR Day Summit is scheduled to be released with the aim of outlining the approaches, priorities, policies, and future outlook of the public relations profession in Iran and around the world. The declaration is expected to serve as an analytical and strategic document, helping define the future direction of the profession in response to technological developments, social change, and emerging communication demands within the framework of the World PR Day theme.

In this regard, Mahdi Baghian, CEO of KPRI (Kargozar Public Relations Institute) and a board member of the Iranian Association of Public Relations Specialists (IAPRS), emphasized the significance of the World PR Day slogan and underscored the need to redefine the role of public relations in the age of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and social change.

“Today, more than ever, strategic public relations can play a vital role in building trust, strengthening social capital, managing public perception, and enhancing the quality of organizational and social communications,” he said.
